(More customer reviews)I purchased this Honeywell Digital Thermostat to replace an original 28 year old mechanical thermostat that operated the electric heat pump system in my home. Prior to purchasing the new digital thermostat I removed the original one to examine the wiring configuration, knowing that this would provide information required in selecting a new digital thermostat. Next, I visited the Honeywell website, selected the choices of thermostats for electric heat pumps with aux. back-up heat, and found this one. (There are models that offer all sorts of daily/weekly programming, but that feature was not one that I desired.) The website was extremely useful because it allowed me to examine the "Installation Manual", which included a chart to coordinate the original wires with the correct connection posts in the new unit. The removal of the original and installation of the new took less than 30 minutes with no difficulties. It has been in use for about a month now, and I am 100% satisfied! My old thermostat was 5 degrees off. Honeywell states that this model is to be accurate to within 1 degree. So far it has been dead-on accurate! For the price, it is a wise investment. I highly recommend it!
