(More customer reviews)The Tjernlund Duct Booster Fan can only be installed in one orientation if the pipe is running horizontally. The there is a pressure sensing port that must be upright so that it does not fill up with condensate. Further, the booster fan must be installed more than 15 equivalent feet away from the dryer and more than 5 equivalent feet from the exhaust port. I would recommend that you download the installation instructions from []and verify that you can install the booster fan in a proper location and or...ORientation before you buy it. With the restrictions on installation, and obstructions in my crawl space, there was only one possible location for my installation. I can imagine scenario where one would not be able to install this product due to constraints.
I am pleased with the Duct Booster fan. It is quiet. I can't hear it over the noise of the dryer itself, and I have a newer, quiet front loader. The booster fan does what it is supposed to do, keep the velocity of the air up in the duct so that lint doesn't accumlate in the duct. There is now fine lint on the patio under my dryer exhaust port of my home.
I also recommend cleaning the duct prior to installing the duct booster fan. The Linteater Dryer Vent Cleaning system sold through amazon worked well for me.
