Mr. Heater/Procom replacement fan works just as well as the original fan that came with the heater. Granted, it is not a strong, forceful fan but having a fan mounted on the heater is more than a plus. The fan helps circulate the heat & seems to keep heat from "building-up" at the heater. Original fan lasted 6 years. HINT: When I removed the original fan (that no longer worked) I removed 4 screws from the back to see how to better maintain; it was pretty packed with dirt. Obviously the cleaning I thought I was doing throughout the heating season was not enough to keep it clean & operating properly. On my version there were 8 screws; only necessary to remove 4 screws that hold the cover plate and blowout with compressed air. Extremely easy to install.
Side note: I have owned several brands of these types of heaters over the years and this one has been the most quiet and reliable. Follow maintenance outlined in manual.
