(More customer reviews)Despite what you have read about oil filled, infrared, silicone, quartz, ceramic, bla, bla, bla, electric heaters... there is no resistance type heater (all of the above) more effecient than a plain old baseboard heater. We've heated our home with them for 40 years and nothing has broken. But if you've found this heater you probably know that already.
You will need a 240 volt 10 amp circuit and a line voltage thermostat for this heater. It has predrilled holes for a couple of mounting screws, a rug 'bumper' if a rug is installed after the heater. Electric wires can be run in either end and connected with wire nuts and a grounding screw. In short it is an inexpensive, run of the mill electric baseboard heater.
I've repainted two of our baseboard heaters with ordinary, quality spray paint - we got tired of the 40 yr. old color.
The heater was shipped in the manufacturers single layer cardboard box with no additional packing. The top front edge was dented but I carefully straightened it with auto body tools. The seller offered to replace it and send a pick-up tag for FedEx. We declined since the heater was used in the far end a storage room. It's a great deal for $43.00.
