(More customer reviews)I've had a problem with a closet in my house being cold as a refrigerator during winter due to the way they built the house years ago. This closet is on an external wall and underneath the hardwood floors is the dirt from the ground, not insulation, and all that cold air underneath seeps up through the floor and wall. I decided to install one of these heaters in the closet (120V version) and a few minutes after turning it on that closet was hot as a sauna!
I will note that I'm using a standard Cadet thermostat that attaches to the end of the heater and just has the "HI" to "LO" dial settings. The problem with this type of dial is that the heater will always remain on (unless you turn the dial off). So for instance, even on the lowest "LO" setting, it's still running, and in the case of my closet, even "LO" makes it hot. I will be changing that soon to a thermostat in which I can set an actual temperature, which will prevent that from happening, not to mention also save a few bucks since the heat won't be constantly running.
I highly recommend the heater and if you have the capability, I'd recommend the 240V version, in which case you can get one of the Cadet electronic programmable thermostats. I have an old, old natural gas furnace, which is costing a fortune to run thanks to the ever-rising price of natural gas, and I'm now in the process of switching over my entire house to the 240V baseboard heaters.
